GeoParquet to GeoJSON
GeoParquet to GeoJSON decodes WKB geometry and attributes into GeoJSON features, detecting the geometry column via geo metadata, logical types, raw binary WKB or hex WKB text.
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to a server.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: GeoParquet, GeoJSON
- Flow: GeoParquet → GeoJSON
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Drop a .parquet or .geoparquet file into the box — conversion starts automatically (no button, no options).
- Review the map preview and the amber disclosure lines (parsed-binary rows, skipped binary property columns, additional geometry columns dropped).
- Copy the GeoJSON or download it as a .geojson file.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- Geometry columns are detected via GeoParquet geo metadata, GEOMETRY/GEOGRAPHY logical types, raw binary WKB bytes, or hex-encoded WKB text; detection and trade-offs are disclosed in-page.
- Values that cannot be mapped to a geometry fail loudly (no silent geometry:null); NaN/Infinity coordinates also fail loudly.
- Only the primary geometry column is read — additional geometry columns are disclosed as dropped.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Drop in a .parquet → map preview + disclosure lines → get GeoJSON
