3D Model Analysis
Drop in an STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF or GLB model to see triangle and vertex counts, bounding box, surface area and volume, plus eight 3D-printing checks with adjustable thresholds.
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to a server.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB, GLTF
- Flow: Mesh → counts, bounding box, area, volume and 8 printability checks
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Drop an STL / OBJ / PLY / 3MF / GLB / GLTF model.
- Stats and the 3D-printing report appear automatically.
- Tune thresholds to recompute instantly; toggle overhang highlighting.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- Volume is approximate, computed as the signed volume of a closed (watertight) mesh; open meshes are indicative only — repair first with Mesh Doctor for printing.
- Units are the model’s own (usually mm); wall-thickness and build-volume inputs are in mm.
- Wall thickness is a bounding-box sampling estimate (adaptive resolution); minimums are conservative.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Drop in an STL → see triangle count, size, surface area and volume
