Point Cloud to Mesh Reconstruction
Upload a LAS, LAZ, PLY, PCD or XYZ point cloud, set the reconstruction depth, and download a Poisson-reconstructed mesh as PLY, STL or OBJ — nothing to install, the heavy compute runs on Open3D in the Vecaria cloud.
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”Requires sign-in and uses cloud quota. Uploaded files are kept for 24 hours after the job completes and then automatically deleted — only you can access them meanwhile, and you can delete them from your account at any time.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: LAS, LAZ, PLY, PCD, XYZ
- Flow: Point cloud (LAS / LAZ / PLY / PCD / XYZ) → mesh (PLY / STL / OBJ)
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Sign in and upload the point cloud (LAS, LAZ, PLY, PCD or XYZ).
- Set the reconstruction depth (8 is a balanced default), tick “Estimate normals” if the file has none, and pick the output format (PLY, STL or OBJ).
- Wait for the job and download the mesh — large clouds are voxel-downsampled first, so very detailed settings take longer.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- Requires an account and cloud quota.
- Open3D (MIT) Poisson reconstruction; higher depth means finer detail but slower runs.
- Best for oriented surface scans; watertightness depends on point density and normals.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Upload a .ply/.laz point cloud → set depth → download a PLY/STL mesh
