DXF Offset Contour Tool
DXF offset in your browser, no upload: create inward or outward equidistant contours for cutter, knife or laser kerf compensation, with round, square or miter joins.
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to a server.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: DXF
- Flow: DXF geometry → inward/outward offset DXF contours
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Paste ASCII DXF text into the input.
- Set the offset distance (negative values offset inward), the corner style and the offset mode.
- Click “Generate offset”, then copy or download offset.dxf.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- Extreme inward offsets can collapse a contour and produce no output — try a smaller distance.
- Entity types outside the whitelist (e.g. SPLINE/INSERT/HATCH) are not offset and stay out of the output — the result panel reports per-type counts.
- ASCII DXF only (convert binary DXF first).
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Tool compensation: offset a closed contour inward by the cutter radius (e.g. 0.5 mm).
- Laser kerf compensation: offset outward by half the kerf width.
