Compare PDF Files
Compare two PDFs page by page: text mode diffs the text layer and jumps between changes, pixel mode renders each page pair and reports changed-pixel ratios with hotspots and a heatmap…
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to a server.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: PDF
- Flow: Two PDFs → page-by-page text or pixel diff report
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Load the original and revised PDFs.
- Choose text or pixel comparison — pixel mode compares all aligned pages automatically (up to 20 per run); encrypted files show an in-page password field, enter the open password and compare again.
- Review the per-page table, switch side-by-side / overlay / heatmap views, then download the diff pages as a PNG ZIP.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- Text diff needs a text layer — scanned PDFs are flagged (use OCR or pixel mode).
- Pixel diff compares aligned pages only: extra pages in either file are disclosed as not compared, and a run covers at most 20 pages (truncation notice beyond). Pages with different sizes are compared on their overlapping area.
- Encrypted PDFs take the open password in the page (both modes); the password is used locally only — a wrong password is reported explicitly instead of failing silently.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Pick PDFs A/B → text diff or per-page pixel diff → locate changes in the page table → download the diff pages as a ZIP
