SVG to DXF Converter
SVG to DXF converts vector artwork into DXF for laser cutting and CNC: circles, ellipses, lines and rects map to native entities, text is outlined with a default font, other paths are sampled into polylines.
Processing and data safety
Section titled “Processing and data safety”This tool runs entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to a server.
Input and output
Section titled “Input and output”- Formats: SVG, DXF
- Flow: SVG → DXF (shapes become native entities, text is outlined)
How to use
Section titled “How to use”- Drop an .svg file into the drop zone — the overview preview appears immediately, and <text>/<image> elements are counted in a notice (text is outlined with the default font).
- Optionally set the sampling precision — the arc-length spacing between sampled points (smaller value = smoother curves, more vertices) — and the output units (default millimetres; the $INSUNITS header and values follow your choice).
- Click “Convert & download” — the DXF file saves automatically; load it in your CAM software.
Key details and limits
Section titled “Key details and limits”- <circle>/<ellipse>/<line>/<rect> map to native DXF CIRCLE/ELLIPSE/LINE/closed-polyline entities (exact under rotation/uniform-scale transforms; under non-uniform scale or skew, circles/ellipses fall back to exact parametric polyline sampling)…
- <text> is outlined with the default Noto Sans SC font (your original font is unavailable, so letterforms may differ; no kerning/letter-spacing and dx/dy shifts are not applied); glyphs missing from that font are skipped and counted.
- Output units are selectable (mm/cm/m/in/ft, default millimetres): SVG user units are converted via width/viewBox semantics (e.g. width=200mm with a 100-unit viewBox → 1 unit = 2 mm); without a width attribute the CSS default 1 unit = 1px ≈ 0.2646 mm applies.
