What is it? 3D Model Screenshot renders a 3D model to a PNG preview image — auto-framed from a standard angle on a light background, in three preset sizes. Useful for catalogs, listings and documentation.
TL;DR: Drop in a model — STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB/glTF or an XYZ/PCD point cloud — pick a size, and render a PNG preview image with one click. Free with no sign-in; the off-screen render happens locally in your browser and your file is never uploaded.
How to use
- Drop in a model (STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, GLB/glTF, or XYZ/PCD point cloud) — it previews on the page.
- Choose an output size (1280×720, 1920×1080 or 1080×1080).
- Click Render & download PNG — the image saves to your downloads and is shown on the page.
FAQ
Can I set the resolution?
Yes — three presets: 1280×720, 1920×1080 and 1080×1080.
Is it local?
Yes, the render happens in your browser.
Can I choose the camera angle or background?
No — the render uses a fixed auto-framed view and lighting on a light background; only the three output sizes are selectable.
Does it load glTF with external files?
Only self-contained .gltf — external .bin or texture references are not supported. OBJ material (.mtl) files are not loaded either.
What is the PNG used for?
Catalogs, product listings and documentation — a clean, auto-framed preview of the model at 1280×720, 1920×1080 or square 1080×1080, ready to drop into a page or a PDF.
Can I render from my own camera angle?
No — the render uses one fixed auto-framed view with standard lighting on a light background. To screenshot your own orbit angle, open 3D Model Viewer and use its Screenshot button.
Does it render point clouds?
Yes — XYZ and PCD point clouds render to a PNG preview image just like meshes.
Is the background transparent?
No — the output is a single auto-framed view on a fixed light background; transparent or custom backgrounds are not supported.
Can I render several models at once?
One model per render — drop the next file and click Render & download PNG again for the next image.
Examples
- Drop in a model → preview on page → pick a size → render and download PNG
