Tessellation generally produces a printable mesh; run Mesh Doctor if your slicer reports issues.

Is it local?

Yes, conversion is local.

Tessellation may need tuning for very small features.
Large models are memory-bound.
Tessellation precision presets: Draft / Standard / High / Ultra (more faces at higher quality).
Large models are memory-bound; we recommend keeping STEP files under 100 MB.
