Preview first: dropping a file renders the in-page PNG preview only — the download starts after you click the button above (layer/scale mistakes are visible before saving).

Render Gerber/Excellon to a high-resolution PNG, locally. Rendering by the MIT-licensed tracespace gerber-to-svg family.

The PNG preview appears here after you drop a Gerber/Excellon file — nothing is downloaded until you click Convert & download.

What is it? Gerber to PNG renders Gerber and Excellon files to high-resolution PNG images for documentation, reviews and datasheets — preview-first (the in-page preview renders on drop; the download starts only when you click Convert & download), multi-file batch (up to 10, packaged as a ZIP with per-file failure isolation) and resolution by multiplier or an exact long-edge pixel target (total scale cap 8×, never below natural size).

TL;DR: Gerber to PNG renders RS-274X layers and Excellon drills to high-resolution PNGs. Drop files, check the in-page preview, set the resolution or a transparent background, then Convert & download — batches of up to 10 package as a ZIP. Free, no sign-in, nothing uploaded.

How to use

  1. Drop a Gerber (RS-274X) or Excellon drill file — the in-page PNG preview renders on drop (nothing downloads yet). Drop several files to queue a batch.
  2. Optionally set the resolution multiplier (1×/2×/4×), an exact long-edge pixel target, and transparent background.
  3. Click Convert & download — a single file saves as a .png; a queued batch renders each file and packages the PNGs as a ZIP (failed files are listed, not fatal).

FAQ

Can I combine multiple layers?

No — this page renders one file (one layer) per PNG. To overlay and check layer alignment, use Gerber Layer Stackup; it also runs locally.

Is it local?

Yes.

Does it support older RS-274D Gerber files?

Only RS-274X Gerber and Excellon drill files are supported — older RS-274D files may not render correctly.

What resolution can I choose?

The long edge starts around 1600 px; pick 2×/4× upscaling or an exact long-edge pixel target, capped at 8× total scale.

Can I get a transparent background?

Yes — transparent background is optional; the default is white background with black lines, which prints and pastes into documentation cleanly. One file renders as one PNG; a queued batch saves each file's PNG into a single ZIP.

Do I need KiCad, Altium or any EDA software?

No. The Gerber or Excellon file is parsed and rasterized entirely in your browser, and the output is a standard PNG — recipients only need an image viewer or an office app. That makes it handy for sending board images to colleagues, datasheets and review rounds without CAD software.

Can I convert a whole set of Gerber files at once?

Yes — drop up to 10 files and each one renders to its own PNG, packaged as a ZIP with per-file failure isolation (failed files are listed, not fatal). Each PNG is a single layer; to overlay a full layer set and check registration, use Gerber Layer Stackup, which also runs locally.

Examples

  • Drop in a .gbr or .drl → preview in-page → Convert & download saves a matching .png
  • Drop several files → Convert & download → one ZIP with a PNG per file (failures listed)

Limitations

  • Raster output via SVG: white background with black lines by default, transparent background optional.
  • Long edge starts around 1600px; 2×/4× upscaling or an exact long-edge pixel target, total 8× scale cap and never below natural size.
  • Batch is capped at 10 files per run (extras are disclosed, not silently dropped); the in-page preview shows the first file. To overlay multiple layers, use Gerber Layer Stackup.
  • RS-274X Gerber and Excellon drill files; older RS-274D may not render correctly.
  • Very dense boards produce large images.
  • Runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
