Supports images
Choose fileDefaults: 8 colors, ltres/qtres 1, path omit 8 — the same values this tool shipped with. More colors and smaller tolerances mean a larger SVG. Images over 4MP are rejected (tracing would freeze the page) — shrink them first. You can also paste an image with Ctrl/Cmd+V.
What is it? Image to SVG Converter traces PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP raster images into scalable SVG vectors, with tunable color count and detail (8 colors by default) — ideal for logos, icons and line art that must scale cleanly.
TL;DR: Image to SVG Converter traces logos, line art and icons into scalable vectors — adjustable color count, free, no upload, no sign-in.
How to use
- Drop a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP image (or paste one with Ctrl/Cmd+V) — it is traced to SVG automatically.
- Optionally tune the color count (default 8) and the ltres/qtres/pathomit detail tolerances.
- Check the in-page preview (checkerboard shows transparency).
- Copy or download the .svg.
FAQ
Does it support color tracing?
Yes — the tracer outputs a simplified multi-color SVG. The color count (2–64, default 8) and the detail tolerances (ltres/qtres/pathomit) are adjustable; more colors and tighter tolerances mean a larger SVG.
Is it local?
Yes, tracing is local.
Is there an image size limit?
Yes — images over 4 megapixels are rejected with a clear message, because synchronous tracing would freeze the page. Shrink the image first.
Does it work on photographs?
Not well — photos produce large, noisy SVGs with many paths. It is designed for logos, icons and line art.
Which image formats can I trace?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP — drag the file in or paste an image straight from the clipboard with Ctrl/Cmd+V. Images over 4 megapixels are rejected with a clear message, because synchronous tracing would freeze the page; shrink them first.
Can I edit or recolor the result?
Colors and shapes yes — the output is standard SVG with a viewBox, so any vector editor can recolor or reshape it and it scales cleanly at any size. Text is the exception: it is traced as outline paths, not editable text.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Single-file tracing is free with a daily allowance and no sign-in — the quota resets every 24 hours. Tracing and SVG export run entirely in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.
