Choose fileFields left blank overwrite the stored value with an empty one when saved — handy for wiping author/producer fingerprints. Note: saving also updates the document's "ModDate" to the save time (XMP metadata streams are kept as-is, so the two dates can differ).
What is it? Edit PDF Metadata changes a PDF's title, author, subject and keywords, adds custom key/value fields to the document info dictionary, and wipes fingerprints via "Clear all fields" — single file or batch with per-file failure isolation and a ZIP. Saving updates ModDate to the save time (XMP streams stay as-is). Free with no sign-in, locally in your browser — the file is never uploaded.
TL;DR: Edit PDF title, author, subject and keywords, add custom fields, wipe fingerprints — single file or batch. Free, no sign-in, no upload: runs in your browser.
How to use
- Open a PDF — existing metadata is prefilled (a notice appears if it can't be read); encrypted PDFs must be decrypted first.
- Edit the metadata fields; use "Clear all fields" to wipe all six Info values, and "Add custom field" for any extra key/value pair (prefilled from the first file's existing custom keys).
- Download the updated PDF — or add more files and download the batch as a ZIP (per-file failures are skipped without stopping the rest).
- No sign-in, no upload — the file is processed in your browser under the free daily allowance.
FAQ
Does it change the content?
No — only document metadata is modified.
What are custom fields for?
Any extra key/value pair in the document info dictionary (e.g. Department, Case No.) — added under "Custom fields" and written to every file in a batch; names colliding with the six standard fields are ignored.
Can I remove the author/producer fingerprint?
Yes — clearing a field and saving overwrites the stored value with an empty one. Note that saving also updates the document's ModDate to the save time (XMP streams are kept as-is, so the two dates can differ).
Is it local?
Yes.
Can I set the creation or modification date?
No — dates can't be edited. The tool writes the six Info fields (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer) plus your custom fields; the document's modification date is simply updated to the save time, and XMP dates are left as-is (the two can differ).
Do I need Adobe Acrobat or any software?
No — it runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS or Linux. Open the page, drop in the PDF, edit and download; nothing is installed.
Can I rename the PDF title to match its file name?
Not automatically — but paste the file name into the Title field and save. For many files, batch mode lets you edit each one and download them all as a ZIP.
What about XMP metadata?
Only the Info dictionary is written — XMP streams are preserved exactly as they are. If a reader shows XMP-based properties, they stay unchanged; clear the Info fields if you want the standard properties to read as empty.
Examples
- Drop in a PDF → edit properties → download

Limitations
- XMP streams are preserved as-is; the Info dictionary fields (title/author/subject/keywords/creator/producer) are written, plus any custom key/value fields you add (keys ≤64 chars, values ≤256 chars; keys colliding with the six standard fields are ignored).
- Fields left blank overwrite the stored value with an empty one when saved — handy for wiping author/producer fingerprints.
- Saving updates the document's ModDate to the save time; XMP dates are kept as-is, so the two can differ.
- Encrypted PDFs must be decrypted first.
